The Paraiso de Albufeira Hotel was built with family holidays in mind. Located at the heart of popular resort of Albufeira, this 4 star hotel offers a relaxing vibe for adults and plenty to keep the children entertained too. When it comes to swimming and sunbathing, you have got the choice of two pools. There is a large freeform number outdoors and a heated indoor one too. The health club is the perfect spot to relax or maybe choose a shady spot in the gardens and chill out with a book.If you want to up the tempo, challenge your partner to a game of tennis or play a round of crazy golf. The children will have fun too in their own kids club, play area and splash pool. The beach is just a short walk away, perfect for an afternoon dip or to build sandcastles. When it comes to onsite eateries, there is plenty to tempt your taste buds. Start the day with a casual buffet breakfast by the indoor pool. Snacks, ice creams and cooling drinks are served on the poolside terrace. Or go down the a la carte route and tuck into Portuguese specialities for dinner.
If you fancy cooking, your modern apartment comes complete with a well equipped kitchenette. When the sun goes down, the Paraiso de Albufeira Hotel lays on a varied line up of entertainment. The Paraiso de Albufeira Hotel has all the facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel in Portugal. Highlights include: A large freeform outdoor swimming pool with sun terraces, sun loungers and parasols, indoor pool, three bars, three restaurants, a poolside snack bar, shop, health club, daytime activities, nighttime entertainment and Club Prestige. Additionally there is a 24 hour reception with currency exchange, internet corner, ticket sale for cultural and entertainment events, car rental, laundry service and a courtesy bus. On the sports front, discover tennis, table tennis, a pool table, darts, crazy golf and a games room.
For the children, there is a kids club, play area and a kids pool.
Room facilities
The Paraiso de Albufeira Hotel has 414 modern guest units, including studios and apartments. All rooms have a full kitchenette, bathroom, satellite TV, piped music, direct dial telephone, air conditioning, balcony and individual safe. Iron and hairdryer are available from reception.
Food, drink & entertainment
Restaurante Eva is the main restaurant and offers an a la carte service along with garden views from its large terrace. During the summer months, Restaurante MGE serves up a vast array of buffet dishes at dinner. The Aquario self service restaurant is located next door to the indoor pool and is the perfect spot for a informal buffet breakfast and lunch. Light snacks, drinks and ice creams are served on the Caribbean style terrace of the poolside Patio Caribe.
An extensive list of cocktails is available throughout the day from Bar Adao, which is also the venue for live music until the early hours. Bar Giro is located poolside and offers a great selection of refreshing drinks al fresco. There is a full programme of evening entertainment and also the Clube Glam nightclub.
Location
The 4 star Paraiso de Albufeira Hotel is located in the centre of Albufeira. The Old Town is 1km from the hotel and the main nightlife just 800m away. Faro Aiport is approximately 40kms distance.
Lovely hotel with good location and big rooms
I stayed at this hotel with a group of girls. As there was six of us, we had a two-bedroom apartment. This was fab, as there was lots of space, with a living room and kitchenette. There was also two bathrooms, which worked really well for us when it came to getting ready!
The hotel has a lovely big pool and plenty of areas to sunbathe. During the day, there are a number of activities that you can take part in, such as water aerobics or water polo. On an evening, there's entertainment but this is very family-focused, so ideal if travelling with children. However, the piano bar might be best, if travelling as an adults-only group.
We stayed all-inclusive and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice. During the day the snack bar was open for pizza, chips and burgers, which was excellent if you didn't want to move very far! The evening meal was poor, though, with a lack of choice and not the best quality. We ate out many nights.
As for location, this hotel is around a 10 to 15-minute walk from both the old town and the new strip. Both of which we thoroughly enjoyed.
I would recommend this hotel but would say to go self-catering rather than all-inclusive.
